measurement the absorption capacity of solar energy storage technology

Authors

Abstract:

Although solar energy is one of the most important renewable energies in Iran that most areas of the country, especially the Central Desert, have considerable ability to use, but the random nature of this type of energy makes it difficult to predict its output power and may cause problems in the performance of the feed systems. For this reason, the use of energy storage systems for periods of less production than consumption is necessary to balance production and consumption. There are various technologies for solar energy storage, but before using them in Iran it is necessary to examine the capacity of these technologies in Iranian companies and decide on their basis. Absorption capacity is a process that helps organizations and companies in different industries and services to recognize the knowledge or technology and to attract, transfer and exploit it and achieve competitive advantage. In this study, it is tried to investigate the absorption capacity of existing technologies for solar energy storage and to select higher priority transmission technology by Grey Relational Analysis.

Photoelectrochemical Solar Energy Storage Cells

Although society’s electrical needs are largely continuous, clouds and darkness dictate that photovoltaic solar cells have an intermittent output. A photoelectrochemical solar cell (PEC) can generate not only electrical but also electrochemical energy and provide the basis for a system with an energy-storage component (PECS). Sufficientlyž energetic inQ1 solation incident on semiconductors can ...

Templated assembly of photoswitches significantly increases the energy-storage capacity of solar thermal fuels.

Large-scale utilization of solar-energy resources will require considerable advances in energy-storage technologies to meet ever-increasing global energy demands. Other than liquid fuels, existing energy-storage materials do not provide the requisite combination of high energy density, high stability, easy handling, transportability and low cost. New hybrid solar thermal fuels, composed of phot...

Experimental and Numerical Study of Energy Absorption Capacity of Glass Reinforced SCC Beams

Various experimental studies have been carried out on glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), but in limited studies, the behavior of this type of concrete is evaluated using finite element method (FEM). In this study an analysis model is presented for predicting energy absorption capacity of glass fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (GFRCSCC) beams and the results are compared with exper...

Diaryl-substituted norbornadienes with red-shifted absorption for molecular solar thermal energy storage.

Red-shifting the absorption of norbornadienes (NBDs), into the visible region, enables the photo-isomerization of NBDs to quadricyclanes (QCs) to be driven by sunlight. This is necessary in order to utilize the NBD-QC system for molecular solar thermal (MOST) energy storage. Reported here is a study on five diaryl-substituted norbornadienes. The introduced aryl-groups induce a significant red-s...

Theoretical Investigation Of Solar Energy High Temperature Heat Storage Technology Based On Metal Hydrides

A solar energy storage system based on metal hydrides was proposed in this paper. The numerical simulation of processes of energy storage and thermal release were carried out. The dynamic behavior of heat and mass transfer in the metal hydride energy system were reported. Some factors which influence the whole system performance were discussed. The paper also made an economic analysis of the sy...
